Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Sociology/Psychology Teacher to join a vibrant School in Suffolk. In this role, you will teach both Sociology and Psychology across Key Stage 4 and 5, delivering engaging lessons that encourage students to explore these fascinating social sciences. As a Sociology/Psychology Teacher, you will inspire students to critically examine human behavior, society, and mental processes, helping them develop valuable skills for both academic and personal growth. This role begins September 2025.

Duties as a Sociology/Psychology Teacher:
  1. Teach Sociology and Psychology at Key Stage 4 and 5, delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
  2. Create a stimulating learning environment that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and student participation.
  3. Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and support to help students achieve their full potential.
  4. Contribute to the development and review of the Sociology/Psychology curriculum.
  5. Provide a range of support to students, including those with additional learning needs.
  6. Collaborate with colleagues in the department to share best practices and develop effective teaching strategies.
Ideal Sociology/Psychology Teacher:
  1. A degree in Sociology, Psychology, or a related subject.
  2. A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., QTS).
  3. Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach both Sociology and Psychology at Key Stage 4 and 5.
  4. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  5. A commitment to providing high-quality teaching and supporting students’ academic and personal development.
