Are you passionate about inspiring the next generation through engaging and innovative teaching? We’re looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our team and help us deliver excellence in teaching and learning.
In this role, you’ll create exciting, relevant, and high-quality learning experiences for all students. You’ll bring subjects to life, connecting classroom content to real-world issues, current events, and local employers—helping students see the value and relevance of what they’re learning. You’ll also play a key role in supporting each student’s academic journey by monitoring progress, providing constructive feedback, and motivating them to achieve their goals.
We offer a wide range of popular Social Sciences courses, including GCSE Sociology and Psychology, as well as AS/A2 levels—Psychology being one of our most in-demand A-level subjects with multiple groups each year. If you have experience teaching AS/A2 Psychology, that’s a big plus! We’d also love to hear from you if you can teach Sociology or Criminology.

Key Responsibilities
- To contribute fully to the mission and values statement of the College ensuring its effective implementation in all aspects of College life.
- To contribute to the College and curriculum area strategic objectives and to actively engage in the annual review.
- To be aware of national developments in subject area and update knowledge and skills on an annual basis.
- To plan, prepare and deliver high quality lessons to achieve effective management of the learning process
- Plan and use a range of effective and appropriate teaching and learning techniques to engage and motivate students and encourage independence and student autonomy
- Establish a purposeful and motivating learning environment where students feel safe, secure, confident and valued
- Establish and maintain procedures with students which promote and maintain appropriate behaviour,
Generic Duties:- To contribute fully to the mission and values statement of the College Group ensuring its effective implementation in all aspects of College life.
- To take proactive responsibility for Health & Safety to ensure that a safe working environment and safe working practices are maintained at all times.
- To comply with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
- To support cross college actives as required in particular the key enrolment and invigilation periods.
- To understand roles and responsibilities around safeguarding all learners.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential Criteria:- Educated to Level 6 e.g. Degree or equivalent in related degree
- Successful recent previous teaching experience with 16-18 year olds
- Excellent computer literacy – ability to use the current IT programs of the College
- Proven relevant experience of curriculum planning, development & delivery
- Knowledge and understanding gained from previous experience in delivering the BTEC and/or
- A level specifications (Psychology/Sociology)
- Engaged and passionate about Continuing Professional Development.
- Minimum of Level 2 Literacy/Numeracy .
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills, an effective member of a team
- Ability to set high standards for students, colleagues and for themselves
- Strong understanding of the importance and impact of feedback on learner performance
- Experience using ICT to support and enhance subject delivery
- Outstanding teacher who is student centred
Desirable Criteria:- Experience and understanding of ALPS and value added as progress measures
- Good understanding of curriculum development to meet the training needs of employers
- Fluent speaking in any of the mentioned languages: Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Kurdish Sorani, Tigrinya, Spanish, French or Portuguese
- Experience as a subject examiner
