Job summary

Academics is seeking a dedicated Sociology Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in a Ware primary school. You will work in-class and 1:1 to build confidence, engagement and inclusive learning.

The role offers hands-on experience across education, social care and mental health pathways, with ongoing training and a supportive school environment to help you develop children’s social, emotional and academic skills.

Qualifications

• A Sociology degree or related subject.
• SEN experience is beneficial.
• Experience providing 1:1 support is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-class and 1:1 support for pupils with ASD and other educational needs.
• Support pupils' social, emotional and academic development.
• Assist teachers with classroom activities and learning resources.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement.
• Build trusting and supportive relationships with pupils.
• Help maintain a calm, inclusive and positive learning environment.
