Job summary

Academics is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs at a welcoming school in Ware. You will work closely with pupils, providing encouragement, reassurance and tailored support throughout the school day.

This role offers the chance to develop experience in SEN and education, working alongside experienced teachers and support staff while making a genuine difference to pupils' lives.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and classroom-based support to pupils with SEN and additional needs.
• Encourage and motivate pupils to participate positively in learning.
• Support children with their academic, social and emotional development.
• Use patient, creative and adaptable approaches to overcome barriers to learning.
• Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
• Build strong, trusting and professional relationships with pupils.
• Work closely with teachers and other support staff to meet individual needs.
• Promote the welfare, safeguarding and wellbeing of every child.
