Job summary

Northumberland County Council is recruiting a Social Worker for the Substance and Alcohol Team in Northumberland. You will assess adults affected by substance and alcohol misuse, promote wellbeing, and work with health professionals to provide person-centred support.

The role involves managing a caseload with supervision, applying Care Act duties, and pursuing opportunities for professional development including Accredited Training paths. A driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work and registered with Social Work England.
• Successfully completed the UK Skills for Care ASYE programme.
• Valid UK driving licence and ability to use a car for work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments for adults in the Substance and Alcohol Team.
• Manage your own caseload with regular supervision and guidance from your Team Manager.
• Apply the Care Act and local authority duties to support safe, healthy and independent living for service users.
