Job summary

Northumberland County Council is seeking experienced Social Workers to join the Adults, Ageing & Wellbeing Directorate in Blyth. You will conduct comprehensive assessments, manage your own caseload, and work with supervision from Advanced Social Work Practitioners.

The role emphasizes short term interventions, safeguarding, and using community assets to support independence. A driving licence is required; ASYE completion is welcomed; flexible development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.
• Successful completion of UK Skills for Care ASYE programme.
• Valid UK driving licence and able to drive for work purposes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and manage your own caseload with supervision.

In this role, you will conduct comprehensive assessments and enjoy a healthy balance of autonomy and support. You'll manage your own caseload while receiving regular supervision and consistent guidance from Advanced Social Work Practitioners and your Team Manager. A clear understanding of the Care Act and the Local Authority's statutory duties is essential.
