Job summary

Northumberland County Council is seeking experienced Social Workers to join the Adults, Ageing & Wellbeing Directorate in Blyth. You will carry out comprehensive assessments and manage your own caseload with supervision, delivering strength-based interventions to support independence.

  • Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.
  • Successfully completed UK Skills for Care ASYE programme.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and manage own caseload with supervision.
  • Provide short-term interventions to support autonomy and prevent longer-term care needs.
  • Understand the Care Act and Local Authority statutory duties.

About the role

In this role, you will conduct comprehensive assessments and enjoy a healthy balance of autonomy and support. You’ll manage your own caseload while receiving regular supervision and consistent guidance from Advanced Social Work Practitioners and your Team Manager. A clear understanding of the Care Act and the Local Authority’s statutory duties is essential.

For this position you must have the following:
  • Degree in Social Work & registered with Social Work England
    • Successfully completed the UK Skills for Care ASYE programme
    • It is an essential requirement of the role that the post holder has a valid UK driving licence and is either a car owner or can use a car for work purposes.
