Job summary

Rochdale Borough Council is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join the Post Order & Permanence team in Rochdale. You will assess children's needs, develop care plans, manage a caseload, and work with partner agencies to promote permanence and safety for children.

You will prepare reports for court proceedings, support foster carers and adoptive families, and contribute to safeguarding practices within a supportive environment that offers professional development and flexible working

Qualifications

A recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
Registration with Social Work England.
Experience working within children's services, particularly in post-order and permanence settings.
Demonstrated knowledge of child protection legislation and safeguarding practices.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's needs and circumstances.
Develop and implement individual care plans with families and stakeholders.
Manage a caseload of children and families with timely interventions and support.
Work with partner agencies to promote permanence and stability for children.
Prepare reports and documentation for court proceedings and care reviews.
Provide support and guidance to foster carers and adoptive families.
