Job summary

Leaders in Care is partnering with a South East England council to recruit an experienced Social Worker for the Children in Care service. The role offers regular reflective supervision and a supportive management structure to help you deliver the best outcomes for children and young people.

The position supports a flexible hybrid model with office presence 1–1.5 days per week and the remainder from home, enabling a healthier work–life balance in a busy caseload.

Qualifications

• Must hold Social Work England registration.
• Experience as a practitioner in Children in Care is essential.
• Statutory role requires appropriate professional qualification.

Responsibilities

• Act as allocated social worker for children, young people and Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children; lead long-term care planning and promote stability and positive outcomes.
• Assess and investigate safeguarding concerns; identify risks and protective factors.
• Prepare high-quality reports, including for court proceedings.
• Support court processes and give evidence when required.
• Lead on specialist areas to support service improvement.
• Engage in supervision to reflect, develop and maintain professional standards.

We're partnered with a highly rated council in the South East of England, for an experienced practitioner to join their well established Children in Care service.

We understand the importance of achieving a healthy work-life balance, especially when dealing with complex cases, with this council, working from home is very much encouraged, so you can expect to be in the office 1-1.5 days per week, and the rest from home.
