Job summary

Liquid Personnel is recruiting a Children’s Social Worker to join its Looked After Children team, based in Torbay. The role involves managing a caseload of Looked After Children (20–24 cases on average), with office attendance up to three times per week and remote work allowed when not on duty. You will receive supervision and have progression pathways within the team.

The position offers a long-term placement with travel across Torbay as needed and a £150 weekly accommodation allowance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of Looked After Children, CIN, CP and assessments
• Attend office up to three days per week; respond to crisis situations

• Opportunity for progression into permanent roles
• Travel across Torbay and occasionally out of county to visit children placed elsewhere
• Participate in a duty rota and long-term placement arrangement

What will your responsibilities be?

• Caseload Expectations:Typically, 20–24 cases, including a mix of complex Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and assessments
• Remote Working:Office attendance is expected up to three times per week. During duty weeks, full-time office presence is required. Remote working is permitted but staff must remain available to respond to crisis situations and Section 47 enquiries
• Supervision:Frequency varies by team; for example, in my team, supervision is held fortnightly
• Progression Opportunities:Pathways exist for career development and permanent roles
• Travel Requirements:Candidates must be able to travel across Torbay and occasionally out of county to visit children placed outside the area
• Duty Rota:Teams cover duty one full week every three weeks
• Contract Length: Long‑term placement
