Job summary

Lancashire County Council is recruiting a Social Worker for the newly established Kinship Permanence Team in Preston. You will provide child-centred, strengths-based support to kinship children and their carers, focusing on SGOs, CAOs and other arrangements to achieve stability.

All recruits benefit from the Social Work Academy, with induction, coaching, ongoing learning and development, and supervision to uphold high practice standards.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Social Worker with a strengths-based, child-centred approach.
• Ability to build strong relationships with kinship families and professionals.
• Collaborative approach to coordinating support to achieve positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide strengths-based, child-centred support to children in kinship arrangements.
• Support family members and friends who care for kinship children.
• Work with SGOs, CAOs and other private law arrangements to secure long-term stability.
