Job summary

Remedy Social Care is seeking a Senior Social Work Practitioner for the Kinship fostering team in Shropshire. You will support children to remain within family networks and drive permanency through high-quality assessments and relationship-based practice.

You will complete Form K assessments, viability assessments, and SGO work, while supervising kinship foster carers and coordinating with multi-agency partners to ensure timely, child-centred plans.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with registration in England (Social Work England).
• Experience in Kinship/connected persons fostering (Form K).
• Experience with SGO assessments and permanence planning.

Responsibilities

• Complete Form K assessments to assess connected persons as foster carers.
• Undertake viability assessments to inform early permanence planning.
• Carry out SGO assessments, including support plans and court reports.
• Provide regular supervision and support to approved kinship foster carers.
• Support carers to manage placement challenges, contact arrangements and transitions to permanence.
• Work with children's social workers and partners to ensure coordinated care planning.
• Ensure all work is child-centred, evidence-based and within statutory timescales.
