Job summary

Shropshire Council is seeking a committed and passionate Qualified Social Worker (or those nearing completion) to join the Assessment Team. The role offers a varied caseload and the opportunity to engage with families from the outset after referral into the service.

Caseload is held during the assessment and children transfer to other teams as appropriate. This role is 37 hours per week across 52.14 weeks per year, with progression opportunities within the NJC Grade 7–11 Career Grade.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker or near completion of qualification.
• Experience in assessment work with families.
• Able to work 37 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Carry out assessments of families and hold caseload during the assessment.
• Engage families from referral into the service.
• Transfer children to Case Management, Children Looked After, Court or Early Help after assessment.
