Job summary

City of York Council is inviting applications for a compassionate social worker to join the Disabled Children’s Team in York. The role involves delivering bespoke care packages for children with complex disabilities, leading plans that reflect the voices of children and families, and contributing to a new practice model, Building Brighter Futures.

You will work in a hybrid role with supervision and training, including Signs of Safety guidance, and may access relocation support if criteria are

Qualifications

• Highly motivated and committed to ensuring timescales are met.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Able to work independently and manage conflicting priorities.
• Competent in producing clear, analytical, coherent reports.

Responsibilities

• Provide bespoke care packages for children with complex disabilities in York.
• Assess needs and write children's plans including the voice of children, young people and families.
• Maintain regular supervision and participate in leadership activities to drive the Building Brighter Futures model.
• Work within a Signs of Safety framework and engage in ongoing training.
