Job summary

Essex County Council is seeking a Social Worker for the CYPPS Quality & Improvement Team in Chelmsford. This permanent, full-time role focuses on assessment, planning and delivering high quality care for children and young people in externally commissioned services.

You will collaborate with providers, social care professionals and commissioners to safeguard outcomes, promote continuous improvement and ensure value for money in service delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England are essential.
• Evidence of continuing professional development aligned to Professional Competency/Capability frameworks or Knowledge and Skills Statements.
• Experience within a social work setting with ability to handle challenging social and family situations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Assess complex social care needs and provide support to children and families.
• Develop support plans that gain commitment to solutions and build resilience.
• Act within statutory frameworks and determine when statutory intervention is required.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to secure appropriate support.
