Job description

Social Worker (Children's, Schools, and Families) (Social Care - Qualified), Cornwall

This role involves contributing to the protection of children from harm by assisting in risk assessment and delivering support services. The successful candidate will serve as the Primary Worker with case responsibility for Children in Need, Children Looked After by the Local Authority, and, when appropriate, Children in need of Protection.

Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments of potential carers in Foster Care and Adoption Services, producing assessments of Children in Need and their Families according to DoH Guidelines and timescales, and providing reports for various departmental meetings, reviews, and legal proceedings, attending these as required.

The role requires working directly with children, families, foster carers, and alternative carers to ensure children's best interests are met. Managing financial arrangements related to the work and ensuring compliance with statutory, professional, and legislative requirements, including adherence to National Standards in Adoption, Foster Care, and Residential Care, are also key responsibilities.
