Job Description:
  • Contribute to the protection of children from harm by assisting in risk assessment and delivering support services.
  • Serve as Primary Worker with case responsibility for Children in Need, Children Looked After by the Local Authority, and children in need of Protection when appropriate.
  • For those in Foster Care and Adoption Services, undertake comprehensive assessments of potential carers to ensure safe and enriching family experiences for looked after children.
  • Produce Assessments of Children in Need and their Families according to DoH guidelines and timescales.
  • Provide reports for departmental meetings, LAC Reviews, CP Case Conferences, Legal Meetings, Permanence Planning Meetings, and Court Hearings, and attend as required.
  • Work directly with children, their families, foster carers, and permanent carers to ensure children's best interests.
  • Manage any financial arrangements related to the work.
  • Ensure compliance with Statutory and Professional requirements in line with Legislation and DoH Guidance, including adherence to National Standards in Adoption, Foster Care, and Residential Care.
