Job summary

London Borough of Redbridge is seeking a social worker to join the Children with Disabilities service. You will complete direct work with children, support families, coordinate with Health, Education and OT, and manage complex caseloads within OFSTED rated outstanding service.

The role offers a learning-focused environment with training, supervision, and opportunities to become Practice Educator; hybrid working and a strong, supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• Substantive experience of working with children, young people and their families.
• Excellent writing skills and confident in representing the service at professional forums.
• Committed to achieving positive outcomes for children.
• Experience of completing assessments and developing SMART care plans for children, young people and their families.
• A proven track record of establishing positive and meaningful relationships with children, young people and their families as well as colleagues.
• Able to demonstrate personal and professional autonomy in relation to practice.

Responsibilities

• Complete direct work with children and support families with a disabled child.
• Support siblings of disabled children and manage Child Protection and court cases.
• Collaborate with health, Occupational Therapy and Education (SEN) to support transitions.
• Maintain professional standards and contribute to a positive team culture.
