Job summary

Northamptonshire Children’s Trust is seeking a Social Worker for the Children with Disability service in Kettering. You will undertake assessments, develop care plans, and coordinate respite support and behavioural guidance for children with complex disabilities and their families.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, uphold safeguarding standards, and provide expert advice on disability matters, aiming to promote the welfare and rights of children and engage effectively with families

Qualifications

• A strong understanding of child development, safeguarding, and relevant legislation.
• The ability to build effective relationships with children, young people, families, and partner agencies.
• Excellent assessment, analytical, and decision‑making skills.
• A commitment to promoting the rights, wellbeing, and aspirations of children with disabilities.
• The ability to manage a complex caseload while maintaining high professional standards and quality practice.

Responsibilities

• Complete a range of assessments informing care plans (Children and Families, Risk, Parenting, Sibling).
• Develop care plans for children/young people with a disability and provide respite support and behavioural guidance.
• Contribute to safeguarding and professional practice within the team; offer expert advice on disability issues.
