Social Worker Children In Care Permanence Team

About the Team

This role is based within Warwickshire’s Children in Care Permanence Team, primarily located in Bedworth, providing a county-wide service to all children in care with permanency plans across Warwickshire, including those placed further from home. We are a busy but rewarding team passionate about capturing the voice of young people and ensuring they are central to all care and pathway planning decisions concerning their future.

We serve children in care of all ages (up to 18 years) in various settings, including foster care, residential homes, supported accommodation, supported lodgings, and placements with connected family members. We work closely with families, supporting children and young people to return to their families when safe, and focus on maximizing their life chances, safety, education, and readiness for adulthood. Our team emphasizes building positive relationships with young people and ensuring their voices are heard.

Now is an exciting time as Warwickshire begins to embed our Families First teams, which support whole-family locality working through multi-disciplinary and multi-agency collaboration with local services, health, police, and education. Find out why we are rated good by Ofsted.

About the Role

We are recruiting a full-time, permanent Social Worker to cover Warwickshire and beyond. Responsibilities include advocating for children and young people, supporting their well-being, safety, education, and transition to adulthood, and building positive relationships. Candidates should be organized, confident in legislation and processes, and skilled in representing children verbally and in writing.

Key Requirements
  • County-wide travel within Warwickshire and beyond.
