Locum Social Worker – Child Protection Court Teams

Location: Child Protection Court, Wembley, UK

Salary: £37.52 per hour

Contract Type: Locum, Ongoing

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Locum Social Worker to join the Child Protection Court Team within the London Borough of Brent at The Brent Civic Centre (HA9 0FJ). This full-time or part-time ongoing role offers flexibility, professional growth, and the chance to make a real difference in the lives of children and families. Core hours are 9:00–17:00 Monday to Friday, with options such as 8:00–18:00 for four days a week or other variations to suit your schedule.

What You Will Do:
  • Conduct Core Assessments, pre-birth assessments, and risk assessments to safeguard children.
  • Carry out Section 47 Child Protection investigations and represent the authority in court.
  • Prepare court reports, including Section 7 and 37 reports, and provide statements to support legal proceedings.
  • Undertake home visits to monitor and ensure the safety and welfare of children.
  • Lead and coordinate core group meetings, liaising with other professionals and the police when necessary.
  • Oversee care proceedings, implementing and reviewing care plans tailored to children’s needs.
  • Supervise contact, prepare case conference reports, and participate in strategy meetings.
  • Complete Child in Need plans, ensuring all statutory requirements are met.
