Job summary

Elysium Healthcare is seeking a Lead Social Worker and Safeguarding Lead at Farmfield in Charlwood, Surrey. You will manage a caseload, lead safeguarding, supervise staff, and ensure adherence to social work procedures within a multidisciplinary team.

You will coordinate with external agencies and oversee training, safeguarding induction, and quality assurance activities to promote recovery and safe care planning for adult men detained in a secure setting.

Qualifications

• Registration with Social Work England.
• At least 4 years’ experience in a similar environment.
• Knowledge of relevant safeguarding legislation.

Responsibilities

• Lead safeguarding efforts and participate in quality assurance meetings.
• Provide supervision and appraisal to junior and senior social workers.
• Contribute to hospital social work procedures and safeguarding policies.
• Deliver safeguarding induction and keep training updated across the hospital.
• Liaise with external agencies (MAPPA, Local Authority, CMHT, Police, Probation) to meet statutory duties.
• Support carers and families of detained patients.

Are you a Lead Social Worker and Safeguarding Lead looking to join a company that values and recognises you? If so, join the team atFarmfield inCharlwood, Surrey, a medium and low secure service for men who have been detained under the Mental Healthand help people in their recovery journey to develop new skills and build a brighter future.

Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will manage and support a caseload support service users with mental illness. You will be responsible for assessments, CPA reports, Mental Health Tribunals, Managers Hearings and will be requested to supervise junior staff members.

As a manager of the team, you will lead and promoteadultsafeguarding and will empower recovery to encourage service users to engage in their care plans and achieve their goals.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be supported regionally and will have access to a variety of training and online courses to support your career development and growth.

As a Lead Social Worker you will be:

Supporting the social work team to take the lead on child and adult safeguarding.

Lead social worker in quality assurance meetings.

Lead and contribute to the production of hospital procedures relating to social work and safeguarding

Supporting the social work team to deliver Safeguarding induction and update training across the Hospital.

Leading the multidisciplinary teams on non-medical mental capacity issues and best interest decisions.

Delivering quality supervision and appraisal to junior and senior social workers in the Team.

Liaising with external agencies to enable them to fulfil their statutory duties for, for example: MAPPA, Local Authority Social Services, CMHT, FIND, FOLS, Police and Probation.

Supporting carers and families of patients that are detained.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

Registration with Social Work England.

To have a good working knowledge of the relevant legislation

To Have at least 4years’ experience of working in a similar environment
