Job summary

Farmfield Hospital in Charlwood, Surrey, seeks a Gardener & Maintenance Assistant to keep facilities and outdoor spaces safe, tidy and welcoming for residents and staff. You will perform routine maintenance, garden upkeep, and liaise with contractors, with training provided and opportunities for career development at Elysium Healthcare.

Location: Farmfield Drive, Charlwood, RH6 0BN. Salary £25,559.16 per year, with benefits including leave, pension, wellbeing support, and DBS Safeguarding

Qualifications

• To comply with system and procedures.
• Have previous experience within a maintenance role.
• Gardening experience (desirable)
• To work effectively as part of a team and independently.

• Liaising with a manager reporting all faults and defects.
• Coordinating and supporting contractors whilst on site and completing of all paperwork and tool checks.

Join Farmfield Hospital in Charlwood as a Gardener & Maintenance Assistant, where you will play an important role in creating and maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-presented environment for some of the most vulnerable people in society.

As a Gardener & Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the service's facilities and grounds are maintained to a high standard. This includes carrying out general maintenance tasks, regular audits to identify and repair faults, and supporting the upkeep of the hospital's gardens and outdoor spaces to ensure they remain safe, tidy, and attractive for service users, staff, and visitors. You will be working as a gardener and .When there is no gardening to do, you will be working within the maintenance team.

Working alongside an established team, you will turn your hand to a variety of maintenance and gardening duties, liaising with contractors where required to support the ongoing maintenance and development of the service. Your proactive approach will help ensure the environment remains fit for purpose, safe, and welcoming for everyone who uses it.

You will be working at Farmfield Hospital, located next to Gatwick.

You’ll be caring for adult men 18+ who potentially have a forensic background and enduring mental health illnesses such as personality disorder, substance misuse issues and challenging behaviours.
