Job summary

Caritas Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Adult Safeguarding Social Worker to join Knowsley Council's Adult Services on an ongoing locum basis. The role is hybrid, with 3 days remote and office attendance on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Key responsibilities include safeguarding enquiries under Section 42, managing a caseload of 12–15 cases, risk assessment, and collaboration with partner agencies to safeguard adults at risk. Experience in Adult MASH is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
• Experience in Adult Safeguarding services.
• Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and safeguarding legislation.
• Ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively.
• Adult MASH experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Undertake safeguarding enquiries under Section 42 of the Care Act 2014.
• Manage a caseload of approximately 12-15 cases.
• Assess and manage varying levels of risk, complexity and uncertainty.
• Ensure safeguarding concerns are managed in line with the Care Act 2014 and Knowsley's safeguarding procedures.
• Work collaboratively with partner agencies to safeguard adults at risk.
• Complete safeguarding investigations and enquiries to a high professional standard.
• Participate in the Adult MASH duty rota one day per week.
• Take safeguarding referrals, complete partnership checks and undertake initial enquiries.
• Provide cover for duty services during periods of annual leave and sickness where required.
• Maintain accurate case records and comply with GDPR, Data Protection and Information Security requirements.

Caritas Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Adult Safeguarding Social Worker to join Knowsley Council's Adult Services team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated practitioner with safeguarding experience who is passionate about promoting the welfare, safety and wellbeing of vulnerable adults. Experience within an Adult MASH environment would be highly advantageous.
