Job summary

Elysium Health care is recruiting a Senior Social Worker for Thornford Park in Thatcham to manage a caseload of forensic service users, conduct assessments, and contribute to CPA reports and tribunals. You will supervise junior staff, promote safeguarding, and support service users in recovering and engaging with their care plans.

Join a multidisciplinary team with regional support and access to training. DBS disclosure is required for all candidates.

Qualifications

• Social Work qualification with registration in Social Work England.
• Good working knowledge of the relevant legislation.
• Experience of working in a similar environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary teams on non-medical mental capacity decisions.
• Liaise with external agencies to fulfil statutory duties (e.g., MAPPA, Local Authority Social Services, Police and Probation).
• Support carers and families of detained patients.

Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will manage and support a caseload of forensic service users with mental health conditions. You will be responsible for assessments, CPA reports, Mental Health Tribunals, Managers Hearings and will be requested to supervise junior staff members. As a senior member of the team, you will lead and promote child and adult safeguarding and will empower recovery to encourage service users to engage in their care plans and achieve their goals. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be supported regionally and will have access to a variety of training and online courses to support your career development and growth.

Other responsibilities include:

• Lead the multidisciplinary teams on non-medical mental capacity issues and best interest decisions Liaising with external agencies to enable them to fulfill their statutory duties, for example: MAPPA, Local Authority Social Services, Police and Probation Supporting carers and families of detained patients

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• A Social Work qualification Registration with Social Work England.
• Have a good working knowledge of the relevant legislation
• Have experience of working in a similar environment

Where you will be working Location: Thornford Park, Crookham Hill, Thatcham, Berkshire, RG19 8ET Thornford Park offers a seamless integral pathway supporting and empowering service users in their recovery and rehabilitation. The medium, low secure and rehabilitation wards, as well as a psychiatric intensive care units (PICUs) are all set within 21 acres in the Berkshire countryside.
