Job summary

Staffordshire County Council is recruiting Social Workers for its Children and Young People’s Disability teams across the county. The roles involve direct work with children and families, high support and challenge, and delivering timely assessments and reports for courts and reviews.

You will join a small team of social workers and participate in ongoing learning and development. We offer agile and flexible working options and a commitment to staff development and delivering the best possible

Qualifications

  • Be a Qualified Social Worker with post qualification experience working directly with children and families.
  • Be registered with Social Work England.
  • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with children, families and other professionals.
  • Be a team player.
  • Have the ability to engage and communicate with disabled children and be committed to ensuring the children on your case load receive the best quality service.

  • undertaking direct work with children and their families and their carers which provides high support and high challenge and aims to support families to find solutions to their own challenges.
  • providing high quality and timely assessments and reports in the agreed format for Court's, Child Protection Case Conferences, Statutory Reviews and any other forum
  • maintaining client records

Job description

We have 4 Children's Disability teams across the county, and they provide specialist services for children and young people with complex disabilities. These are small teams of highly dedicated Social Workers that support children and families to reach the best outcomes in a timely manner, enabling them to live their lives to the full. We also are supported by a team of skilled Family Practitioners who assist in facilitating behaviour management work and undertaking direct work. Our Social Workers make a huge difference to the lives of people across our County. Main Responsibility You will be:
