Job summary

Staffordshire County Council is seeking an experienced advanced social worker to join the Assessment and Staying Together Team in South Staffordshire. You will work with children, young people and families to improve well-being, promote independence, and support plans under CIN/CP and court proceedings.

Codsall office offers free parking and a supportive environment. Applicants must have SWE registration, a social work degree, post-qualifying experience, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

  • Social work degree and SWE registered.
  • Post qualifying experience in social work.
  • Knowledge of Children’s Act, Working Together, Adoption Act guidance.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Knowledge and skills in supporting assessment and formulating plans for children and young people.
  • Experience in mentoring.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve outcomes for children and young people.
  • Examples of creative social work practice to keep children with their families where safe to do so.

Responsibilities

  • Support children subject to Child in Need and Child Protection plans, and those involved in court proceedings.
  • Join the Assessment and Staying Together Team in South Staffordshire and contribute to safeguarding outcomes.

Job description

As an advanced social worker you will work within the framework of legislation, agreed council policies and procedures to work with or on behalf of children, young people and their families, to improve their well-being, and promote their independence.
As an experience social worker to apply for this role you must have:

  • A social work degree and be Social Work England (SWE) registered
  • Post qualifying experience in social work
  • Knowledge of legislation and guidance underpinning delivery of children's social care e.g. Childrens Act, Working Together, Adoption Act
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Knowledge and skills in supporting assessment and formulating plans for children and young people
  • Experience in mentoring
  • Demonstrated ability in improving outcomes for children and young people
  • Examples of creative social work practice to keep children and young people within their families where safe to do so.
    We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker to join our Assessment and Staying Together Team in South Staffordshire. In this role, you will support children subject to Child in Need and Child Protection plans, as well as those involved in court proceedings. We welcome applications from experienced social workers.
