Job description

Social Worker Job Opportunities

We are recruiting Social Workers with a range of skills and experience for permanent, full-time positions. Roles are available within the Shepway Community Team in Kent, operating under a hybrid model of office-based and remote work to meet service needs.

Benefits include a £3000 Golden Hello payment (subject to criteria) and ongoing service-related payments.

About Us

This is an exciting opportunity to join our community teams across Kent, focusing on locality working, person-centered practice, and good practice. We work with adults with diverse care and support needs, undertaking assessments such as Care Act and Mental Capacity Act, Court of Protection applications, and safeguarding enquiries.

Our approach emphasizes excellent practice, innovation, and meaningful measures, fostering relationships with individuals, families, and communities to empower local support options.

About You

We welcome applications from both experienced and newly qualified social workers who meet professional standards and hold registration with Social Work England.

You should have strong literacy and communication skills, a positive attitude, and a strengths-based approach focusing on individuals' outcomes. Collaboration and flexibility are key qualities we value.

A full UK driving license is required; however, reasonable adjustments will be made for applicants with disabilities.

Support and Benefits

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including flexible working, market premium payments (eligibility dependent), generous leave, and pension scheme. Opportunities for professional development include access to our social care academy, progression routes, and specialist training such as Mental Health and Practice Educator courses.

Regular supervision, reflection opportunities, and career development support are provided. Please specify your preferred work areas and full-time or part-time preferences on your application.

We are expanding our service hours to 8 am - 8 pm, 7 days a week, to improve accessibility.

This role requires an Enhanced Disclosure check and registration with Social Work England. It is a customer-facing position, and applicants must demonstrate sufficient spoken English/Welsh proficiency as per statutory requirements.

We also invite applications from registered nurses and occupational therapists with relevant experience for our Community Practitioner roles, contingent on their professional registration (e.g., HCPC, NMC).
