Dundee City Council is looking for a dedicated social worker to join its child protection and intake team. This permanent position requires a Social Work degree and offers a hybrid working arrangement aimed at supporting children and families in need. The successful candidate will help prevent children from entering care and work closely with families, ensuring a comprehensive assessment and support system.

Working in a hybrid style, you will work full time, 37 hours per week. The post is located in a busy child protection and intake team, working in Seymour House, Dundee's multi-agency child protection building. The team will be involved in the "Bairns' Hoose" Tayside Pathfinder.

You will provide an effective high quality social work service to children and families. You will assist children and families to live safely in the community and prevent reception into care. You will work with children in care towards rehabilitation with their families of origin or towards permanent placement with substitute families.
As part of the Intake/Child Protection team, you will undertake initial assessments of need/risk, including child protection investigations. You will provide a high-quality social work service to children and families, helping children to live safely in the community where possible.
