Opus People Solutions, on behalf of Suffolk County Council, has an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker to join their Children in Care Team.

Location: Bury St Edmunds, IP33 3YU

Working Arrangements: To work from the office 3 days a week

Key Responsibilities:

1. Act as the case responsible person / allocated social worker for children in care proceedings and children in long-term care or those for whom permanent alternative care planning is progressing.
2. Undertake direct work with children in care, understanding their lived experiences and their wishes and feelings.
3. Carry out life story work and produce life story books.
4. Write, review, and amend children’s care plans, considering their identified needs.
5. Prepare reports for Children in Care reviews and court as part of care proceedings.
6. Collaborate with the child's carers, parents, family network, and other professionals involved in care planning, including the child's IRO, Guardian, Health, and Education teams.

The role involves significant travel, sometimes to rural locations to visit children in placements; therefore, a driving license is essential.
