Job description

Job Overview

Teach. Champion. Empower. Safeguard

Salary: £45,198 - £48,241 per annum

Location: Create in the Community, main hub (IG11 8GD) and other community learning settings.

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

Are you a passionate and experienced Social Worker looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families? TCES is seeking a dedicated professional to join our FAST (Families and Services Together) Team. In this vital role, you’ll work directly with children with complex needs, including ASC and SEMH, and their families—delivering tailored support across school, home, and community settings. You will lead on multi-agency casework, safeguarding, and creative interventions that promote educational achievement, emotional wellbeing, and long-term positive change. If you’re driven, resilient, and ready to be part of a transformative team, we’d love to hear from you.

As part of our innovative and inclusive approach, you’ll manage a varied and complex caseload, contributing to universal, targeted, and intensive interventions. You’ll work collaboratively with families, professionals, and external agencies to address a broad spectrum of needs—from safeguarding and emotional wellbeing to education access and contextual risks. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking team where your skills, creativity, and commitment to positive outcomes will be genuinely valued and supported.

The Complete Education Solution (TCES)

TCES is an independent social enterprise, providing specialist education based in London supporting exceptional neurodiverse children and young people aged 7 to 19 who have special educational needs and disabilities typically associated with autism, social emotional and mental health needs and associated disorders. Most of them will have experienced multiple placement breakdowns and significant trauma, often resulting in behaviour that challenges. On average pupils will have been excluded from other provisions up to three times before reaching us and had significant periods out of education.

TCES pupils learn at one of our two schools, Create in the Community service or within our Home Learning service; Create in the Community and Create Learning Primary support our most complex and vulnerable pupils, with TCES East London and TCES North West London supporting those who are able to access learning within a school environment. When they are ready, we aim for pupils to step down from Create into one of our main schools, TCES Sixth Form, and mainstream provision.

TCES Create in the Community deliver bespoke learning and therapeutic interventions to neurodiverse pupils, who have a range of complex needs, and who demonstrate behaviours linked to tier 3 / 4 traumas. Pupils are encouraged to find and express their creativity and provided opportunities to achieve awards, alongside traditional subjects, as they move from dependence on others to independence through intensive therapeutic interventions.

Essential Requirements To Be Successful In The Role Are

  • Qualified Social Worker (with Social Work England registration).
  • Experience of managing neurodiverse young people, including those with ASC and/or SEMH, with an understanding of the implications for communication, learning and behaviour patterns.
  • Experience of coordinating pupil centred assessments, liaising with multi-disciplinary teams and external stakeholders (Team around the Child).
  • Resilient, committed and a hard worker - able to keep going in the face of adversity and never giving up.
  • Experience of leading, supervising and developing a team of peripatetic practitioners.

In Return We Offer

  • Competitive salary and terms and conditions, including school holidays and consistent monthly pay.
  • An opportunity to make a real difference and join a leading provider of specialist education, directly contributing towards positive outcomes for pupils with SEMH and ASC.
  • Excellent CPD opportunities with all staff provided an individual Learning & Development Plan to support career development, including education qualifications at all levels (QTS / QTLS / NPQs) and options to take progressive Ofqual registered Level 3 – 5 qualifications in Therapeutic Education.
  • Comprehensive induction process, including all pupil-facing staff supported in receiving the Level 3 Award in Therapeutic Education and Group Process.
  • Regular half termly staff wellbeing days.
  • A range of employee support and wellbeing benefits including our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), counselling and contributions towards medical costs and an exclusive rewards platform.

Closing: 02 July 2025
