This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Social Work Team Manager to lead a dynamic Children and Families team in the charming town of Carmarthen. As a Team Manager, you will have direct overall line management responsibilities for a statutory social work team of dedicated professionals.

What you will do:

  • Provide direct line management to a team of 2 Assistant Team Managers and 6 Social Workers, ensuring regular supervision and adherence to supervision policy.
  • Make informed decisions relating to Child Protection matters, exercising autonomy and supporting the team in risk management.
  • Lead the assessment team to complete Section 47 assessments and inquiries, along with Care and Support assessments.
  • Familiarize yourself with court-related matters, including private law proceedings, care proceedings, and PLO processes.
  • Guide and support the team to ensure that every child or young person remains safe at home, when possible, with their family and natural connections.

Requirements of the Team Manager:

  • Degree or equivalent in social work
  • Current Social Work England registration
  • Recent managerial experience, working as a TM, DTM or ATM etc.
  • Significant frontline experience in Adults/Children’s Services working as a Team Manager
