Job summary

Birmingham Children's Trust is seeking a Social Work Practice Supervisor to support and supervise staff delivering safeguarding and welfare services for children and families in Birmingham. The role aligns to district teams, with a focus on reflective supervision and multi‑agency collaboration.

The ideal candidate will hold a Degree in Social Work and be registered, with extensive experience in safeguarding, and a commitment to reflective practice and professional development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.
• Extensive experience working with vulnerable children and families.
• Experience of supervising others and providing reflective supervision.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, legislation and multi-agency working.
• Excellent communication, analytical and supervisory skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide reflective supervision and casework oversight.
• Develop and deliver multi‑agency Family Help plans.
• Chair multi‑agency meetings, quality assure and authorise assessments/reports.
• Promote the voice of the child and ensure their views shape care.
• Support Lead Practitioners and Team Managers to ensure high‑quality assessments.
