Job summary

Gloucestershire County Council is seeking a Social Work Lead to manage and develop a team of social workers and practitioners in the Tewkesbury locality. The role focuses on supervision, mentoring and advising to promote professional curiosity and accountability.

You will coordinate high-risk enquiries, guide practitioners through complex cases, and apply up-to-date legislation knowledge to deliver good outcomes for the people of Gloucestershire.

Qualifications

• Social work qualification and SWE registration are required.
• ASYE completion with at least 2 years post-qualification service.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Up-to-date knowledge of legislation relevant to social work.

Responsibilities

• Lead the professional development of Social Workers and other practitioners through supervision and mentoring.
• Coordinate and manage Section 42 enquiries and guide practitioners through high-risk situations.
• Promote professional curiosity, accountability and best practice in line with statutory duties.
• Deliver positive outcomes for people in Gloucestershire through robust supervision and guidance.
