Job description

Are you looking for a rewarding career where you can make a real difference in people's lives? We have two fantastic opportunities for Social Work Assistants (Enhanced) to join our Localities team within Adult Social Care.

1 x 37 hours per week

1 x 30 hours per week

This is a dynamic role supporting individuals and helping them gain independence through strength-based care and collaborative planning.

As an Enhanced Social Work Assistant, you will:

  • Work closely with individuals, helping them transition back to independent living.
  • Conduct strength-based assessments and care planning that promote autonomy, choice, and dignity.
  • Support carers and family members, offering advice, guidance, and Carers Assessments in line with the Care Act 2014.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and departmental recording policies to maintain high standards of care.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive, multi-disciplinary team focused on delivering high-quality, person-centered care. You will have a varied and flexible working role, building meaningful relationships and shaping positive outcomes for individuals and their families. The role also involves participating in a rota to provide emergency and crisis support outside of core hours. Additionally, you will mentor and coach newly qualified and junior staff, supporting their professional growth, and lead reflective practice sessions to foster a learning culture.

What we are looking for:

  • Passionate individuals committed to improving lives through person-centred care.
  • Strong communicators capable of working collaboratively with healthcare teams, families, and the community.
  • An NVQ3 in Care or equivalent qualification, or demonstrable experience in the care sector working with vulnerable adults in a senior position within a registered provider setting or day care, or equivalent experience.
  • A proactive, confident approach to problem-solving, with knowledge of The Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Human Rights Act, and Data Protection Act.
  • Ability to travel across the Island; own vehicle and driving license are essential.
