Job summary

The Growth Company’s Social Impact and Procurement Team is hiring a Business Advisor – Social Value Specialist to support Greater Manchester organisations in embedding social value strategies. You will work with business owners and senior leaders to provide tailored guidance and measurable impact.

Through one-to-one support, events and partnership engagement, you will promote best practice, evaluate initiatives, and help clients turn social value into a core business priority.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in social value generation, monitoring and reporting.
• Strong track record of driving measurable change within complex organisations.
• Knowledge of social value agenda in Greater Manchester and related socio-economic challenges.
• Understanding of societal issues affecting FE, business support and employment.
• People-focused with belief in the value of good business and employment practices.
• Customer-focused approach to engaging with businesses and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Work with private, public and VCFSE sector organisations to develop and evolve their social impact practices and programmes.
• Represent GM Business Growth Hub and engage with external stakeholders and relevant forums relating to social value across Greater Manchester.
• Build effective connections with clients, partners and communities to enhance good employment practices, widen accessibility, and share learning and best practice.
• Engage with local authorities to understand place-based challenges and identify local resources.
• Provide thought leadership and raise awareness of social value among a range of audiences.
• Deliver advisory support to help clients evaluate and measure the impact of their initiatives and share key learning.
• Design and deliver business support programmes and high-impact events to increase understanding of social value and inclusive growth.
• Examine clients’ business practices to identify opportunities to embed social value as a business priority.
