Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel invites an experienced Social Services Occupational Therapist to Sutton, UK, specialising in Adaptations Assessments for children and young people with complex needs. Based in the Children's Occupational Therapy Service, you will assess environments and coordinate adaptations to improve daily living and safety.

Qualifications

  • HCPC registration with OT qualification.
  • Experience in Children's and Social Care Occupational Therapy.
  • Skilled in functional assessments and equipment recommendations.
  • Experience performing moving/handling and risk assessments.
  • Experience assessing environments for adaptations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments for children and young people with complex needs.
  • Conduct assessments in home, school, and community settings to identify functional abilities and barriers.
  • Recommend and coordinate provision of specialised equipment to support daily living.
  • Complete moving, handling, and risk assessments for safe environments.
  • Plan and execute necessary adaptations for safety and accessibility.
  • Prepare referrals for major adaptations when needed.
  • Maintain meticulous records on Mosaic system.
  • Collaborate with families, carers, education professionals, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Craft intervention plans to promote independence.
  • Review and adjust equipment/interventions for efficacy.
  • Manage a varied children's social care caseload from assessment to closure.
  • Contribute to service delivery targets with timely case closures.

What you will do:

Requirements:
  • Professional qualification in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
  • Experience in Children's and Social Care Occupational Therapy.
  • Proficiency in functional assessments and recommendations for specialised equipment.
  • Ability to perform moving and handling, as well as risk assessments.
  • Experience assessing environments for necessary adaptations.
  • Skilled in managing complex caseloads and interfacing with a diverse clientele.
  • Stellar report writing and communication prowess.
  • Capability for independent work amidst a busy workload.
Desirable Requirements:
  • Mosaic system experience.
  • Background in Local Authority and Children's Services.
