Job summary

Liquid Personnel is seeking an experienced Children’s Occupational Therapist to support a client in Sutton. You will work with children and young people with a range of complex needs, focusing on community assessments, equipment, adaptations and risk management to help families achieve safe, positive outcomes at home.

This locum role requires HCPC registration and prior experience with children, with a track record in community-based paediatric OT and complex assessments.

Qualifications

  • HCPC registered Occupational Therapist required.
  • Experience with children and young people essential.
  • Experience in community Children's OT, equipment, adaptations and complex assessments desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Complete OT assessments for children and young people with physical, developmental and complex needs.
  • Perform functional and environmental assessments to identify barriers to independence, safety and participation.
  • Assess and recommend equipment and adaptations to meet needs of children and families.
  • Conduct risk assessments to ensure safety of equipment and interventions.
  • Collaborate with families, social workers, health professionals and other agencies.
  • Document assessments on Mosaic and progress cases to closure.
  • Ensure timely completion of all aspects of assessment and equipment/adaptation process.

Job description

Liquid Personnel is recruiting for an experienced Children's Occupational Therapist to support its client in Sutton, working with children and young people with a range of complex needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Children's OT experienced in community assessments, equipment, adaptations and risk management, helping children and families achieve safe and positive outcomes at home.

What will your responsibilities be?
  • Complete Occupational Therapy assessments forchildren and young peoplewith a range of physical, developmental and complex needs
  • Complete functional and environmental assessments to identify barriers to independence, safety and participation
  • Assess and recommend appropriatespecialist equipment and adaptationsto meet the needs of children and families
  • Complete relevant risk assessments and reviews to ensure recommended equipment and interventions are safe and appropriate
  • Identify and progressmajor adaptation referralswhere required
  • Complete assessments and documentation on theMosaic system, ensuring records are accurate and complete
  • Obtain appropriate manager sign-off and progress cases through to full closure
  • Work collaboratively with children, parents, carers, Social Workers, health professionals and other agencies
  • Provide clear professional advice and recommendations to support children to remain safe and participate within their home and community environments
  • Manage cases independently and ensure all elements of the assessment, equipment and adaptation process are completed within required timescales
Payment & Requirements:
  • £350 flat rate per completed case closure
  • A case is considered closed when the assessment is completed onMosaic, manager sign-off is achieved, and any equipment has been provided, risk assessed and reviewed, or any major adaptation referral has been completed
  • Minimum expectation of10 completed case closures per month
  • £648 induction/training paymentpayable following completion of the first 5 cases
  • QualifiedOccupational Therapist with HCPC registration
  • Previous experience working withchildren and young peopleis essential
  • Experience of community Children's OT, equipment, adaptations and complex assessments is highly desirable
Induction/Training:

£648 after completion of 5 cases

Contract:

Locum

Minimum Commitment:

10 completed case closures per month
