Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel is recruiting an Occupational Therapist for a locum role in Birkenhead, UK. The post is full-time (36 hours/week) on a 3-month initial contract with potential extension, starting 14 September.

You will conduct specialist assessments, arrange equipment and major adaptations, liaise with families and external agencies, supervise junior staff, maintain records, and respond to safeguarding concerns, promoting independence under the Care Act 2014.

Qualifications

  • HCPC registration mandatory.
  • Experience arranging specialist equipment and major adaptations.
  • Knowledge of the Care Act 2014.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Desirable: Local Authority experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct specialist assessments of needs, including risk management.
  • Work with individuals, families, carers and external agencies to assess needs and develop action plans.
  • Support and guide junior staff and students.
  • Engage with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless service responses.
  • Balance needs and risks with rights, promoting independence for individuals.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Respond to safeguarding concerns with investigators as appropriate.
