Job summary

BFI is seeking a Social Producer for the Film Academy in London. The role is a fixed-term contract (FTC) until March 2029, based onsite with hybrid work requiring one day in Stephen Street or Southbank offices. It involves 41 hours per week, including a lunch break.

You will lead social content creation, manage channels across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and X, and grow an online community while using analytics to inform creative decisions and drive performance.

  • Manage and grow the BFI Film Academy online community by responding to engagement, fostering conversations and promoting programme opportunities and success stories.
  • Use analytics and audience insights to optimise content performance, measure impact and inform recommendations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and partners to capture stories, support live event coverage and showcase activity across the UK.

Social Producer - BFI Film Academy

London - BFI Southbank

FTC (until March 2029)

  • Fixed Term Contract: until 31/03/2029
  • Hours: 41 hours per week, including 1 hour lunch break
  • Location: onsite & hybrid: 1 day required in the Stephen Street or Southbank office.

The successful candidate will have experience creating high-quality social-first content, managing social media channels and building online communities across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and X. They will be confident in filming, editing and delivering engaging content, using analytics and insights to drive performance and inform creative decisions.

A strong collaborator, they will be able to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, manage multiple priorities and communicate clearly with diverse audiences.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, organised and adaptable, with a keen eye for trends and a commitment to supporting BFI Film Academy's mission to inspire and develop the next generation of film and screen industry talent.

  • Use analytics, audience insights and platform trends to optimise content performance, measure impact and provide regular reporting and recommendations
  • Collaborate with colleagues, partners to capture stories, support live event coverage and showcase the breadth of BFI Film Academy activity across the UK.
What you'll bring
  • Proven experience creating and managing engaging social media content across platforms, with a strong understanding of what resonates with young and diverse audiences
  • Excellent content creation skills, including filming, editing and producing high-quality social-first video and digital content
  • Strong analytical abilities, with experience using social media insights and reporting tools to evaluate performance and inform decision-making
  • Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to collaborate effectively with colleagues, partners, and external stakeholders
  • A proactive, organised and creative approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, spot emerging trends and adapt quickly in a fast‑paced environment
