Social Media Manager – L3 Manager
Role reporting to L4 Senior Social Media Manager
The opportunity
We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic and highly motivated Social Media Manager to join our UK Social Media Team within EY UK & Ireland Brand, Marketing and Communications (BMC). In this role you’ll be responsible for executing content on our UK EY channels and contributing to the design, development, planning and execution of best-in-class social media content. You will work with marketing campaign managers to ensure that EY social media activity is compelling and engaging and achieves cut through with key audiences.
Your key responsibilities
- You will work with the Senior Social Media Manager as part of the social media team to develop and optimise the overall social media strategy and to protect and enhance the EY brand reputation in the UK.
- You will be responsible for the creation, scheduling and posting of content on the EY UK social channels, including LinkedIn, Instagram and other relevant channels.
- You will act as a first point of contact for all social media requests and queries related to the EY UK social media channels.
- As part of the social media team. you will create, manage, and optimise the social media calendar across multiple platforms, making room for reactive or quick-win opportunities when necessary.
- You will work collaboratively with teams across BMC and EY more widely to plan, conceptualise and develop engaging and impactful integrated social media content campaigns which amplify priority marketing campaigns.
- You will assist with producing clear creative briefs that allow designers to transform social posts and campaign concepts into high quality social-first content for each platform.
- You will provide coaching and counsel to stakeholders to adopt best-in-class social media practices
- As part of the social media team, you will identify the latest trends in the digital and social media landscape - platforms, engagement, experience, performance and tools, and put forward ideas for how EY should adapt to these changes, with relevance to the firm’s channels and overall goals.
- You will use data to develop social media insights and as the basis for campaigns and content that will resonate with and create greater engagement with the firm’s audiences and communities; you will also be responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of social media activity against campaign goals.
- You will share insights and advice to help EY people to adopt best-in-class social media practices on their own profiles. You will also create and deliver training as part of our goal to help people to amplify the EY brand and their own experience through their channels.
- You will monitor mentions of EY across all social media platforms to identify opportunities, escalate issues, and support with crisis communications where necessary.
Skills and attributes for success
- Strong working knowledge and experience of working with social media platforms and an understanding of their algorithms in a business context, preferably within corporate communications/news.
An active interest in social media, an understanding of what makes for an engaging piece of social media content, and a view on the latest social trends. - Experience of using, understanding and managing social media channels in a business/corporate context and maximising owned and earned content for key audiences.
- A creative eye and strong copywriting/editorial experience, able to turn detailed corporate content into engaging social media content.
Strong writing skills and attention to detail in order to ensure that all social media content is of the highest possible quality and doesn’t include any typo or graphical errors. - Able to judge the tone and appropriateness of social media content across a range of territories, with a global focus in mind.
- Prior experience of key social media management tools: Hootsuite Talkwalker, Core and Amplify in particular.
To qualify for the role you must have
- Experience of working in professional services or matrix organisations or large corporates
- Degree in a relevant field or relevant professional qualifications are welcome but not essential as candidates will be assessed first and foremost on experience.
- Five years’ experience in a communications team or agency.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Experience of working with social media and creative agencies
- Experience of delivering social media plans or campaigns
