Job summary

Human Appeal aims to grow its digital fundraising through social media income streams, influencer partnerships and innovative campaigns. You will engage new audiences, drive trackable fundraising revenue, and expand supporter data while adhering to safety and compliance guidelines.

Collaborating with internal teams and external partners, you will test new platforms, optimise campaigns and leverage AI tools to maximise reach and engagement in a fast-paced charity environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree-educated in Marketing, Advertising, Digital Marketing, Business or Communications, or qualified by experience.
  • 3-4+ years in social media, influencer/affiliate marketing, partnerships or digital fundraising.
  • Proven experience managing influencer, affiliate, creator or brand partnerships with measurable income or acquisition results.
  • Experience planning and delivering social media events or campaigns that drive income and data growth.
  • Experience testing new social platforms and formats with scale-up decisions.
  • Interest in gaming/youth culture platforms (Twitch, Discord, Roblox) and social commerce formats.
  • Experience using generative AI tools and AI-enabled influencer platforms for discovery, vetting, ideation and reporting.
  • Experience growing donor data via social-led sign-ups or partnerships.
  • Understanding of affiliate marketing structures, UTM tracking and attribution.
  • Awareness of fundraising regulation and platform disclosure rules.

Position Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Media Fundraising Executive position within the Communications (Digital) department based at HQ.

Main Responsibilities

This exciting role is responsible for identifying, testing and growing new social media income streams and supporter acquisition opportunities for Human Appeal beyond established organic channels. Working across influencer and creator marketing, partnerships, gaming and youth culture, social commerce and platform monetisation, the post-holder will engage new audiences, generate trackable fundraising income, and grow supporter data. Working closely with internal stakeholders and digital partners, they will use data, insights and AI-powered tools to develop innovative campaigns, maximise reach and engagement, and support Human Appeal's ongoing growth in digital fundraising while ensuring compliance with organisational social media and AI policies.

NB: Employee duties are not limited only to the above-mentioned responsibilities; they may perform other duties as assigned

Candidate essential criteria
  • Degree-educated in a relevant field, e.g. Marketing, Advertising, Digital Marketing, Business or Communications, or qualified by experience
  • Minimum of 3-4 years' experience in social media, influencer/affiliate marketing, partnerships or digital fundraising.
  • Proven experience managing influencer, affiliate, creator or brand partnerships, ideally including a trackable income, commission, monetisation or acquisition element.
  • Experience planning and delivering social media events, challenges and competitions that have driven income, new supporter data and/or new supporter growth.
  • Experience testing new or emerging social platforms and formats and translating results into scale-up decisions.
  • Experience of, or strong interest in, gaming and youth-culture platforms (Twitch, Discord, Roblox) and social commerce/live shopping formats.
  • Practical experience using generative AI tools and AI-enabled influencer/affiliate and social listening platforms (e.g. Brandwatch, Upfluence or similar) for creator discovery, vetting, content ideation and reporting.
  • Experience of proactive online outreach to secure new business/brand partnerships (e.g. discount, in-kind or cause-related offers).
  • Experience growing supporter/donor data through social-led sign-ups, competitions or partnership activity.
  • Understanding of affiliate marketing structures, UTM tracking and attribution for social-driven income.
  • Awareness of relevant regulation and best practice (Fundraising Regulator guidance, Advertising Standards Authority/CAP Code, UK gambling/lottery law as it applies to prize competitions, UK GDPR/Data Protection Act 2018, platform paid-partnership disclosure rules).
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and dignity-in-imagery/do-no-harm content practices when working with content creators and communities in the countries Human Appeal works in.
  • Previous charity, NGO or faith-sector experience is desirable.
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation and project management skills, with experience working in a fast-paced, changeable environment and meeting tight deadlines.
