The Opportunity
We're working with a brilliant independent creative agency looking for a Social Media & Content Manager to join its growing team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys having ownership, building trusted client relationships and bringing their own thinking to the table. You'll be working across an interesting portfolio of global brands, helping shape social strategy, identify opportunities and deliver engaging, insight-led content that makes a genuine impact.
It's a role that combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You'll be comfortable independently managing clients, offering a consultative perspective and challenging briefs where needed, but equally happy getting stuck into content planning, copywriting, publishing, community management and reporting.
The agency is small, dynamic and entrepreneurial, offering the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, have a real voice and play an important part in shaping how social and content develop across the business.
What You'll Be Doing

- Take a consultative approach, understanding client objectives and translating them into effective social strategies and recommendations.
- Lead social conversations confidently, presenting ideas, insights and performance updates.
- Proactively identify opportunities for clients, from emerging platforms and trends to new content formats and conversations.
- Develop and deliver paid and organic social strategies across platforms including LinkedIn and Instagram, with opportunities to expand into TikTok and YouTube.
- Manage social content calendars, ensuring activity is purposeful, engaging and aligned with wider brand objectives.
Content & Creative Execution
- Take ownership of day-to-day social delivery, from planning and copywriting through to publishing and optimisation.
- Develop engaging, platform-native content across imagery, short-form video and social copy.
- Work closely with designers, creatives and wider agency teams to bring ideas to life.
- Contribute to campaign concepts, creative brainstorming and brand storytelling.
- Ensure content is aligned with brand guidelines, audience behaviour and platform best practice.
- Get hands-on with content creation and editing where required, using tools such as Canva, CapCut and native platform tools.
Community Management
- Own day-to-day community management across client channels.
- Monitor comments, messages and conversations, ensuring responses are timely and on-brand.
- Develop community management approaches and confidently advise clients on engagement opportunities.
- Identify relevant conversations, trends and opportunities to build positive brand relationships.
- Flag feedback, emerging issues and audience insights that can inform wider content strategy.
Reporting, Insights & Optimisation
- Manage monthly social reporting across client accounts.
- Monitor KPIs including reach, engagement, follower growth and wider campaign performance.
- Translate data into meaningful insights, clear recommendations and actionable next steps.
- Benchmark performance against previous activity, competitors and industry trends.
- Use reporting to continually improve content, creative briefs, strategy and performance.
What We're Looking For
- Around 3–6 years' experience in social media, content or digital marketing, ideally within an agency environment.
- Experience independently managing client relationships and multiple accounts.
- A confident, consultative approach with the ability to advise clients, challenge constructively and build trust.
- Strong understanding of social platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok, alongside their formats, audiences and behaviours.
- A genuinely hands-on approach to social delivery, with experience across content planning, publishing, copywriting and community management.
- Comfortable interpreting social data and turning reporting into meaningful recommendations.
- Excellent communication, presentation and copywriting skills.
- Highly organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Curious, creative and commercially minded, with an interest in what makes brands and audiences tick.
- Someone who enjoys working independently but is equally collaborative and happy to get stuck in.
Nice to Have
- Experience with social reporting tools such as Sprout Social or Sprinklr.
- Short-form video editing experience using CapCut, Premiere or similar.
- Basic photography, videography or graphic design skills.
- Experience working with global brands or regulated industries, particularly healthcare or alcohol.
- Experience with influencer, creator or UGC activity.
- Confidence using AI tools for research, ideation and reporting.
