Moxie People in Pontypridd is seeking a Social Inclusion Service Coordinator on a part-time basis to lead the design, development and delivery of a new community outreach service across former mining areas.

You will report to the Senior Social Worker, manage staff and volunteers, and build partnerships to reduce isolation and improve wellbeing for older people, disabled adults, and carers. The role is hybrid, with travel across designated regional communities.

Qualifications

  • Experience designing and delivering community or outreach programmes in health, social care, or third-sector settings.
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management tools.
  • Sound safeguarding knowledge for vulnerable adults and empathy for older people, disabled adults, and carers.

Responsibilities

  • Design, coordinate, and deliver a diverse activity programme across multiple community venues.
  • Source local venues, manage event logistics, arrange catering and referrals to expand reach.
  • Line manage the Social Inclusion Support Worker and coordinate freelance providers, volunteers, and session staff.
  • Identify and report safeguarding concerns, working with the Personal Welfare team.
  • Manage activity budgets, process payments, complete risk assessments, and track outcomes.

Social Inclusion Service Coordinator

Location: Pontypridd (Hybrid - office-based with travel across designated regional communities)

Job Type: Part-Time, Permanent

Hours: 30 hours per week (Flexible working pattern to be agreed)

Salary: £24,158 per annum (Pro-rata of £30,197 FTE)

Are you passionate about bringing local communities together and improving the physical and mental well-being of individuals facing social isolation?

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and highly organised Social Inclusion Service Coordinator to lead the design, development, and delivery of a new community outreach service across former mining areas.

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Social Worker, you will coordinate an accessible, person-centred activity programme across multiple community venues. You will manage a Social Inclusion Support Worker, collaborate with freelance activity providers and volunteers, and build strong links with local partners to reduce isolation and foster community engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service Delivery: Design, coordinate, and deliver a diverse, accessible activity programme tailored to physical, cognitive, and emotional needs.
  • Community Outreach: Source local venues, manage event logistics, arrange catering, and build strong referral networks to expand service reach.
  • Team Management: Line manage the Social Inclusion Support Worker and coordinate freelance providers, volunteers, and session staff.
  • Safeguarding & Welfare: Actively identify and report safeguarding concerns, working closely with the wider Personal Welfare team.
  • Administration & Operations: Manage activity budgets, process contactless or cash payments, complete risk assessments, and track outcome data to produce quality evaluation reports.
What We Are Looking For
  • Experience: Proven track record of designing and delivering community or outreach programmes in health, social care, or third-sector settings.
  • Skills: Excellent planning, organisational, and communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management tools.
  • Knowledge: Sound understanding of safeguarding protocols for vulnerable adults, alongside empathy for the issues affecting older people, disabled adults, and carers.
  • Requirements: Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle, and a good standard of education (GCSE grade C/4 or above in Maths and English).

Desirable qualifications include a background in social care, health, or community development, line management experience, First Aid, Food Hygiene, and a basic knowledge of the Welsh language.
