Job summary

NFP PEOPLE in Leicester (Site/Office Based) is looking for a commercially-minded Business Manager to lead a social enterprise arm. You will drive growth, build strategic partnerships, oversee delivery, and manage a team delivering essential household goods to communities.

You will balance revenue generation with social impact, reporting to the CEO and developing new income streams while ensuring financial sustainability and high service standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in business development, B2B sales or partnership growth.
• Track record of turning opportunities into sustainable income.
• Strong relationship-building and networking skills.
• Experience managing teams and leading people effectively.
• Operational management experience in logistics, fulfilment or service delivery.
• Strong commercial awareness and financial literacy.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• 50% Business Development & Partnership Growth: build and manage a strong B2B pipeline, develop relationships with housing associations, social landlords, local authorities, charities and socially-minded businesses, identify and convert opportunities, manage key accounts, promote social value, represent the organisation at events.
• 35% Operations, Logistics & Service Delivery: oversee stock management, procurement and supplier relations, manage delivery operations, ensure excellent customer service and performance, review systems and improve processes, maintain quality and compliance.
• 15% People, Finance & Compliance: lead and develop staff and volunteers, manage budgets and sales targets, monitor margins and financial performance, ensure health & safety and data protection compliance, foster a positive culture.
