About the Role

Our Social and Contextual Analytics Directors play a vital and varied role within our Marketing Sciences team at Ogilvy. Leveraging your expertise in data science, particularly through social and contextual data, data storytelling, and strategic insight, you will inspire our strategic and creative teams to take bold leaps by delivering high-quality analytics and differentiating insights for our clients.

What You’ll Do
  • Drive innovation in our product stack, proactively identifying and implementing new tools, techniques, and data sources to enhance our analytical capabilities. Champion a culture of experimentation and learning, embracing calculated risks to push boundaries while maintaining timelines and delivery needs.
  • Translate visionary thinking into tangible plans and presentations, effectively communicating complex ideas to key stakeholders and securing buy-in for new initiatives.
  • Assume key accountability (alongside the Social & Contextual Insights Lead) for the quality and impact of deliverables from the Social & Contextual Intelligence team. Provide hands-on training and mentorship to team members, focusing on practical skills such as listening methodologies, survey data analysis, and softer skills like data storytelling and integration of diverse data sources. Help analysts become experts at creating compelling and statistically robust narratives that drive strategic action.
  • Work with the Social and Contextual Analysts Lead to develop and grow our capabilities to deliver world-class analysis that drives deep insights and inspires clients to make bold strategic leaps.
  • Collaborate with client teams, strategists, and creatives to develop, sell in, and implement analytics strategies that meet and exceed client expectations.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and foster a positive work environment within the team.
  • Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide data-driven recommendations through compelling storytelling.
  • Get hands-on with data analysis and storytelling, contributing to the development and refinement of analyses.
  • Collaborate across teams within Marketing Sciences and the broader agency to ensure seamless service delivery and client experience.
  • Manage client relationships, ensuring high satisfaction and opportunities for growth.
  • Mentor and coach team members for professional development.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in social and contextual analytics, identifying opportunities to apply them to our business and clients.
What You'll Need
  • Proven ability to drive innovation and implement new analytical approaches in uncertain environments.
  • Ability to translate visionary ideas into actionable plans and compelling presentations.
  • Experience mentoring and training teams, especially in data storytelling, data analysis, and statistical rigor.
  • Extensive experience in marketing analytics, particularly social, contextual, and data analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal and storytelling skills.
  • Understanding of data fusion, advanced analytics, machine learning, and predictive modeling.
  • Proficiency with tools and platforms like Brandwatch, Sprinklr, Audience, GWI, etc., and programming languages like Python or R is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills for distilling complex insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Strategic mindset focused on innovation and transformative change.
  • Experience managing client relationships and delivering valuable insights.
  • Entrepreneurial curiosity for identifying creative opportunities across agency capabilities.
