Job summary

Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council is seeking a care worker to provide personal care and practical support in a registered care home. You will help residents with daily activities, promote dignity and independence, and contribute to a warm, homely atmosphere.

The role supports older people, those with dementia, and adults with learning or physical disabilities. Welsh language ability is desirable, and rigorous safeguarding and data protection practices are expected.

Qualifications

• Provide personal care and support to residents in a registered care home.
• Assist residents with daily living tasks with dignity and respect.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families and colleagues.

Job description

To provide personal care, emotional and practical support to people with identified care and support needs within a Registered Care Home setting.

This includes older people, people with a diagnosis of dementia and/or adults with a learning or physical disability within an environment that enables supports and maintains a homely atmosphere ensuring that the rights, dignity, diversity, independence, and wellbeing of individuals are promoted and maintained.

To assist the Assistant Manager/Registered Manager in the supervision and oversight of the Residential Home or in the absence of., All employees are required to comply with their individual and organisational responsibilities under the Data Protection Act, the Information Security Policy and relevant supporting operational policies. Any matters of a confidential nature must not be disclosed or passed to any unauthorised persons or third party under any circumstance either during or after employment except with the proper course of your employment or as required by law, Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council or both.

Ability to speak Welsh is desirable.
