Job summary

NHS Highland in Scotland is seeking a Social Care Worker to support older people living in a care home. You will lead a team to deliver person-centred care and work across day and overnight shifts. You will need good communication, teamwork, initiative and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

You must hold SVQ level 2 in Social Care or equivalent and commit to achieving SVQ 3 as part of registration with SSSC. Applications from Gaelic speakers are welcome.

Job description

As a Social Care Worker your main job is to help older people living in the care home. This post is responsible for leading a team to support vulnerable adults within a residential setting. We are looking for 1 member of staff to join our dynamic team on contracts for day and overnight care and support. You must have the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative, follow instructions, and possess good communication skills.

You must be able to respond constructively to unpredictable situations and be able to cope under pressure. You must hold a minimum of SVQ level 2 in Social Care or equivalent (minimum required for registration with SSSC), a commitment to achieve SVQ 3 on Social Care.

Main Duties Include

• To administer mediation as prescribed.
• Be Able to take responsibility as a key worker and create person centered care plans for service users
• To contribute to the planning, monitoring and recording of service delivery.
