Job summary

NHS Highland is seeking a Social Care Worker to help older people living in a care home. The post leads a team to support vulnerable adults within a residential setting, with day and overnight contracts.

You must be able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative, follow instructions and communicate effectively. You should hold a minimum SVQ level 2 in Social Care or equivalent (minimum for registration with SSSC) with a commitment to achieve SVQ 3 on Social Care.

Job description

As a Social Care Worker your main job is to help older people living in the care home.

This post is responsible for leading a team to support vulnerable adults within a residential setting. We are looking for 1 member of staff to join our dynamic team on contracts for day and overnight care and support. You must have the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative, follow instructions, and possess good communication skills.

You must be able to respond constructively to unpredictable situations and able to cope under pressure. You must hold a minimum of SVQ level 2 in Social Care or equivalent (minimum required for registration with SSSC), a commitment to achieve SVQ 3 on Social Care.

Main Duties Include

  • To administer mediation as prescribed.
  • Be Able to take responsibility as a key worker and create person centered care plans for service users
  • To contribute to the planning, monitoring and recording of service delivery.
