Job summary

Circle Recruitment is seeking a SOC Engineer to join our MSP client’s security operations team in Manchester or London. This onsite role offers varied, hands‑on work at the heart of security operations, combining threat monitoring, incident investigation and infrastructure support across cloud, network and endpoints.

The role requires SC clearance or eligibility, 2+ years of SOC experience, and a base salary around £30–£45k with on‑call allowance.

Qualifications

• Must have SC clearance or be eligible for clearance.
• 2+ years in a SOC Analyst/Engineer role.
• Experience across service desks, IOC/NOC or MSSP environments is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of security monitoring and incident response.
• Experience with SIEM/EDR and security investigations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and triage alerts from SIEM, EDR and cloud security platforms.
• Investigate security events, escalate threats and support containment and response.
• Analyse logs, assist remediation and improve security operations.
• Maintain investigation records, runbooks and knowledge articles.
• Provide second-line support across cloud, network, infrastructure and endpoints.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers and technical teams during handovers and reviews.
• Develop automation opportunities across security and infrastructure.
